Dr. Edwin W. Monroe worked in Greenville, NC as a general internist. He was also a medical educator and administrator at East Carolina University. Dr. Monroe played an important leadership role in founding a medical school at ECU. In this interview, he discusses his childhood in Laurinburg, NC and how he was influenced to study medicine. He also talks about his experience in medical school and during an internship and residency.
